Tastenkinder

For children from age 6 the music school in your
region offers courses according to the Tastenkinder
concept. Tastenkinder is a holistic group music
program for children on the key instrument.
In small groups aspects of piano and keyboard
lessons are integrated.
This cours is an exciting journey into the world of piano and keyboard play. The cildren are carefully intrduced into instrument play without losing sight of their overall musicality. Joy and fun in domestic play and exercise is cultivated.

The final step on the pathway to music literacy, this program is designed to teach the children to play the songs they have been hearing, singing, and dancing to throughout the years of early childhood. An extension of the work done in Music Makers at Home in the World, this class follows a very sequential approach to building piano skills and understanding musical notation as set forth in the books Music Makers: At the Keyboard. Parents participate at the end of each class. Homework assignments each week include musical games, listening, and daily practice at the keyboard. Parental involvement at home is the key to success. The second year of Music Makers at the Keyboard builds a strong bridge to traditional piano lessons. The children continue to play familiar songs by ear and with notation, and they learn unfamiliar songs from notation. This class, like all classes at Mistletoe Musikgarten, follows Gordon's Music Learning Theory closely. This very sequential approach to understanding musical notation and developing musical skills is set forth in the books Music Makers: At the Keyboard. Parents participate at the end of each class. Homework assignments each week include musical games, listening, and daily practice at the keyboard. Parental involvement at home is the key to success.
Course contents are:
  • Basics of piano and keyboard play
  • Promotion of the joy in making solo music and in a group
  • Reading notes visually and acoustically
  • Writing notes
  • Unterstützung der rhythmischen Entwicklung durch TROMMELN und TÄNZE
  • Support of the rhythmic development by drums and dances
  • Compose and improvise
  • Hearing and understanding music

  • Early intensive occupation with music can promote comprehensive potentials of intelligence.
